InstaSuperSave does not convert or compress anything. You get the file Instagram serves, in the resolution Instagram serves it. The numbers below come from our test on a public profile.

Resolution depends on what the author uploaded and what Instagram keeps, so the numbers in the table are an example from one profile, not a guarantee for every file. The download link is a direct file link and stays valid for about 20 minutes, so save the file right away rather than bookmarking the link.

What InstaSuperSave can't download

  • Private accounts. Only public profiles work. For a private link the tool shows: "You have entered the link to a private account. Please, try to use the link to a public account." Following the account yourself doesn't help: the tool never logs in, so it sees exactly what a logged-out visitor sees.
  • Live videos. Instagram Live streams can't be saved, during or after the broadcast. The tool shows: "Live videos cannot be downloaded". If the author later posts the recording as a Reel, that Reel downloads normally.
  • Expired stories. Stories disappear 24 hours after posting. Once Instagram removes a story there is nothing to fetch; highlights stay available as long as the author keeps them.
  • Links the tool doesn't recognise. Shortened links, links to Instagram settings or search pages, and links to other websites return "Link is not supported" or "Link format is incorrect". Use a direct link to a post, reel, story or profile, or just the username.
  • Stale results. If a result page stays open too long, the download links expire and the tool asks you to search again: "The results are outdated. Please try your search again".
  • Empty profiles. Profiles without public posts or highlights return "No posts found. Please try again later." or "No highlights found. Please try again later."
  • A quick browser check. During heavy use the tool may show a short automated check before the result. It takes a few seconds and needs no login.

InstaSuperSave is built and maintained by a small team of developers who have been working on social media download tools since 2021. We keep the tool up to date with Instagram's changes: when Instagram updates its layout or media formats, the downloader is adjusted, tested on public profiles and released, usually within days.
